Personal Information

When you use the contact form I collect the name, email address, subject and message you choose to provide. If you use the assistant in the chat widget, the messages in that conversation are stored so I can see which questions the site fails to answer; do not put anything confidential into it.

Usage Data

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights record aggregate visit data — pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location, device and browser type. Both are cookieless and neither builds a profile of an individual visitor or tracks you across other sites. Standard server logs, which include IP addresses, are generated by the hosting platform as part of serving the site.

Chat Data

If you use the AI assistant, your messages and the conversation history are stored so I can review where the assistant answers badly and improve it. A copy is also kept in your own browser's localStorage so the conversation survives a page reload.

I use the information collected for the following purposes:

To respond to your enquiries and communicate with you about potential or ongoing work. To maintain and improve the website and the assistant. To understand which pages are read and which questions the site fails to answer. To detect, prevent and address technical issues or security threats. I do not send marketing emails and there is no mailing list.

I do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to anyone. Your information is shared only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

This site runs on Vercel (hosting, plus Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and do not profile individual visitors), Supabase (database), and Web3Forms (contact form delivery). Messages you send to the site assistant are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. These providers only access your data as necessary to perform their function. The site does not use Google Analytics.

Legal Requirements

I may disclose your information if required by law, regulation or legal process, or where I believe disclosure is necessary to protect my rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies, and there is no Google Analytics. Traffic measurement is handled by Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and do not profile individual visitors. The only browser storage the site uses is functional: the assistant keeps your conversation in localStorage on your own device so it survives a page reload. Clearing site data removes it.

I use appropriate technical measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing me.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to access and receive a copy of your personal data, the right to request correction of inaccurate data, the right to request deletion of your data, the right to withdraw consent for marketing communications, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

This site links out to third-party websites and services, including LinkedIn, GitHub and the live deployments of the products in the work section. I am not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites, and I encourage you to review their own privacy policies.

This site and its services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If I become aware that data from a child has been collected, I will delete it promptly.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
